Learn to Swim

Tonight is our final learn to swim class!  For five weeks we have been teaching 160 children how to swim and safety techniques if anything should ever happen.  It has been amazing seeing the children progress from being deathly afraid to swimming in the deep end.  Our team has done an incredible job with teaching the swim lessons!  Thank you to the team for everything you have done!  You all have impacted the lives of each child in various ways.

Two days left of classes then finals begin!  Good luck and stay focused student-athletes.

Open House & Course Registration Day

Tomorrow morning Wesleyan will host the largest thus far for Open House and Course Registration Day.  Admissions is doing an incredible job attracting students and student-athletes to Wesleyan.  Our program is very excited for our incoming freshman class for the Fall of 2012!  Great things are happening and will continue to happen!

As the students enter their last week of class and finals we will finish up all together next week with the All-Athlete Banquet.  This banquet is held for all coaches and student-athletes on campus to reflect back on our successes and honor our seniors for their incredible hard work for 4 years!

This week the coaches met with each swimmer individually for one final evaluation before they leave for the summer.  Each meeting was informative and successful.  The coaches are confident that our team will do what they need to do over the summer to succeed next season.

Our swimming lessons program has one more class left!  It has been an amazing time teaching 160 children how to swim along with survival techniques.  Thank you to the parents and community for your support.

In closing, this was a great week for Wesleyan and the sun is shinning bright!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

3rd graders from a local elementary school (The Academy) came to Wesleyan to participate in Global Youth Service Day.  Student-athletes from every team participated in teaching the children about each sport and how to play.  Not only did we teach about sports but also taught nutrition and how to properly stretch.  It was an incredible day!  It's a great day to be a Bobcat!
