Spring Update

Here is a brief spring update:

The team has begun spring training which has consisted of a lot of running, dryland circuits and little swimming.  Our focus is to maintain our cardiovascular and increase our strength.  Most importantly we are working on bonding as a team and getting ready for next year.

We are teaching swim lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a fundraiser for training trip next season.  It is our plan to travel to Florida to train during the Christmas break!  We are also running the concession stand at the baseball games for some extra cash as well.  Our swim lessons has attracted 163 kids which is outstanding.  I am happy to see local children learn essential skills of swimming.  It is important everyone knows how to swim and be safe!

Recruiting is going well and we are really looking forward to our incoming class!  We are still looking for individuals to join our family.  Our mission is to rise to the top of Division II within the next 5 years.

Traditions

Today the coaches hit the pool early this morning for a workout. During our workout we began to think of some ideas. The coaches got to thinking about traditions...Wesleyan Swimming needs more tradition. We put our ideas together and later made a trip to Lowe's. New traditions are being made!

Next Saturday will be our Annual Team Banquet! I cannot wait to see everyone and give awards to those who have earned it.
